An ideal processor node for IMS clustering applications, the
Kontron AT8030 AdvancedTCA processor board is designed with three Intel® Core™2 Duo processors each with dedicated memory, plus one AdvancedMC slot and an integrated Gigabit switch fully manageable via PowerQuick III processor for 10 GbE on the fabric interface.

The Kontron AT8030 is one of three key open modular platform elements that complete Kontron´s 10 GbE product portfolio. The Kontron AT8030 provides equipment manufacturers the flexibility to customize the design of their network system solutions, especially for various 10 GbE-based systems that drive IMS-based broadband applications that require the seamless delivery of video and data content in IPTV or VoD networks.

The Kontron AT8030 is unique because it enables TEMs and NEPs who build IMS and IPTV-related equipment to run, for example, three different applications across the three independent Intel dual-core processors. One dual-core CPU could manage a live HDTV stream, the second a stored VoD stream, while the third could process data from a web server – and all this is accomplished on a single ATCA node board which occupies only one slot in the ATCA chassis.

Each CPU can be managed independently via IPMI, while other typical applications could employ each CPU in a diskless environment for Radio Network Controller applications.

For further customization, the AT8030 is available with the
RTM8030, a SAS-1.1 Revision 10-compliant rear transition module (RTM) incorporating 1x onboard SAS HDD and IPMI support.
